Living on Central

What's around the building — getting there, eating there, and what's on the calendar.

Downtown Phoenix skyline and the Central Avenue light rail at night, seen from Landmark Towers

Valley Metro Light Rail

Landmark Towers sits right on the Central Avenue rail corridor (the B Line), which runs from north Phoenix through Midtown and Uptown, downtown, and on to Tempe and Mesa, with a transfer downtown toward the PHX Sky Train.

  • Nearest station: Central Ave/Camelback (Uptown Phoenix)
  • Walking distance: at the building's doorstep — same intersection
  • Downtown Phoenix: about 15–20 minutes south on the line

Nearby Schools Confirm public boundaries

Two private schools sit right on this block of Central Ave — this stretch is a genuine walk-to-school pocket. Public options are a short drive or rail ride.

  • Same block: Brophy College Preparatory (all-boys, 4701 N Central Ave) and St. Francis Xavier School, Pre-K–8 (4715 N Central Ave)
  • Nearby: Xavier College Preparatory, all-girls, a few blocks over on 5th St
  • Public: in the Madison Elementary School District (K–8), with Camelback High School and Central High School (Phoenix Union) nearby — confirm the exact attendance zone with the district
  • Colleges & universities: ASU Downtown Phoenix campus and Phoenix College, both a short light rail ride away

Dining & Things To Do

Uptown Plaza sits right at Central & Camelback, with more of the Central Corridor's museums and galleries a short ride south.

  • At the intersection: Uptown Plaza — Flower Child, Shake Shack, Zookz, and Windsor a few blocks north
  • Arts & culture: Heard Museum and Phoenix Art Museum, both on Central Ave
  • Green space: Steele Indian School Park, about a mile south at Indian School & Central

Yearly Local Events

A few recurring fixtures on the Central Corridor calendar — there's more happening downtown most weekends.

  • Monthly, year-round: First Friday Art Walk — galleries and studios across Central Phoenix, first Friday evening of every month
  • Spring: Art Detour, the Valley's long-running open-studio art tour
  • Fall: Grand Avenue Festival in November
